Last week I received my 100th postcard trough postcrossing.com, which came from the Czech Republic. The postcards came from 29 different countries: 1 Australia, 6 Belarus, 3 Brazil, 3 Canada, 6 China, 3 Czech Republic, 2 Finland, 3 France, 12 Germany, 1 Greece, 1 India, 1 Italy, 1 Japan, 2 South Korea, 2 Lithuania, 1 Malaysia, 11 Netherlands, 2 New Zealand, 4 Poland, 1 Portugal, 13 Russia, 1 Spain, 2 Switzerland, 5 Taiwan, 1 Thailand, 1 Turkey, 3 U.S.A, 7 Ukraine, and 2 United Kingdom
Even though I love seeing the postcards and reading the messages, my absolute favorite part of postcrossings is seeing all the beautiful stamps.
Here are some of my favorites.
Hello from Indianapolis, IN! I was doing a search on Postcrossing and found your blog. I like to just poke around the Interwebs for interesting stuff and today was Postcrossing :) I have been a member of Postcrossing for 9 months, sent 65 cards so I'm getting closer to my 100- congrats on making yours!
ReplyDeleteStrange question- how much postage do you use on your cards sent internationally? I know the USPS says $1.10, but at the beginning I didn't know it was different than the regular 33 cent postcard rate. Later I read it was the $1.10, but recently I had purchased off the USPS site the Breast Cancer stamp (.55) and was using 2 of those. BUT last week I went to the local USP and asked for .55 stamps and the guys said they don't sell in that denomination. I said well the Breast Cancer ones I had bought on the USPS site were- and he said well, they are "Forever (46) but the balance was the donation to the Breast Cancer charity.
Ok- so I sent probably 10 at the beginning at .33 postage - all were received. Now I've been using a mixture of regular Global stamps and two of the .46 Breast cancer stamps- all have been received. Do you think the USPS is really checking postcard international stamps? I am curious- #1- cost #2- there are soo many more interesting stamps in the Forever price than in the Global- I look forward to hearing from you- Karen
oh- hey if you respond- can you send a direct message on Postcrossing- Saucy1963? That would be great! Thanks- I look forward to your thoughts!
