(Beautiful flowers I found in California.)
I love finding age old wisdom. Sure, I can write a pithy recipe for happiness, but the greatest words on this subject have already been spoken.
Ways to be happy:
"The best way to cheer yourself is to try to cheer somebody else up." ~ Mark Twain
"The greatest part of our happiness depends on our dispositions, not our circumstances." ~ Martha Washington
"The Grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, something to love, and something to hope for." ~ Allan K. Chalmers
"Those who bring sunshine into the lives of others, cannot keep it from themselves." ~ James M. Barrie
"If
you observe a really happy man you will find him building a boat,
writing a symphony, educating his son, growing double dahlias in his
garden. He will not be searching for happiness as if it were a collar
button that has rolled under the radiator." ~ W. Beran Wolf
"Happiness
is like a butterfly; the more you chase it, the more it will elude you,
but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit
softly on your shoulder ..." ~ Henry David Thoreau
"Gratitude
is one of the sweet shortcuts to finding peace of mind and happiness
inside. No matter what is going on outside of us, there's always
something we could be grateful for." ~ Barry Neil Kaufman
"No
one is in control of your happiness but you; therefore, you have the
power to change anything about yourself or your life that you want to
change." ~ Barbara de Angelis
"Moderation. Small helpings. Sample a little bit of everything. These are the secrets of happiness and good health." ~ Julia Child
