April, 2016. Walking around Issoudun at night is different than anything I've experienced previously. In the daytime I didn't really notice the lights, but these lampshade type posts are otherworldly when the sun goes down. Everyone seemed to be at home, as only a few people were out walking.
Walking home was a little eerie. Here in the States when a home has shutters they're for ornamental, glued to the wall, purposes. In France shutters have a function, and at night, with all the shutters closed, I got spooked while walking down alleyways. We promised ourselves not to do that again, but of course we did.
