December 2015 POPSUGAR Must Have Box Review and Thoughts

This has been a crazy month!  I love the Holidays, but I'm so excited for 2016, which is only a few hours away.  Crazy sauce.  I also got my box just before Christmas, so they were sent a little late this year.  Honestly, though, I'm a little lukewarm about this months Popsugar Must Have box.  My Mom got her box a couple days after I got mine, and having seen my box contents, her box sat on the counter top a few more days until she finally opened it.  Maybe this box will improve with time.

POPSUGAR Must Have is a monthly subscription lifestyle box for gals.  The cost is $39.95 a month, free shipping, but it's cheaper when you subscribe with a 3, 6, or 12 months subscription.  On any month you can receive goodies for home, a book, fitness, snack, makeup, pampering, fashion, etc.  You never know what you're going to get, only that it will be fun and worth around $100, give or take a little.

 The information.

The spoilers leading up to us getting this box hinted at a jewelry item. It seems the last couple December boxes had a little bling, and I loved 2013's bracelet, which I converted into a gorgeous necklace, and the 2014 crystal necklace.  I'm disappointed with this 2015 bracelet.  The clasp is cheap, and it's not my style.  The three tone metal choice is interesting though, but seems like it was trying to please everyone, though if it was a solid color this bracelet would probably be even more boring.

I'll give it a try.  It's modern, and I tend to go for simple and pretty, which is probably why I'm not too stoked about this.  It does look better on, and it has a nice weight to it.  It's not worth no $65, though.

These are really cute and the small size is handy.  I never use full size lipsticks, anyway.  The colors are really nice.  This is the first time I've tried this brand and I'm impressed.  Easily my favorite item in the box.

This was one of those items where I thought, "hmmm, what do I do with this?"  I go to one of those specialty olive oil places, and I was hoping this quark top would fit one of those bottles, but it doesn't.  It has a nice weight to it, and it looks all modern fancy, but I have no use for it at all.

I used this tape to wrap Christmas gifts with, and I didn't care to much for it.  I would have loved if the silver stars were on transparent tape.  That would have been really cute!

I'm making this tonight as my final 2015 treat!  I'm going on a 3 month no processed sugar purge (which I've done before and was successful, but fell back into bad habits, but I still allow myself wheat, beans, dairy, and potatoes/carrots, just no cupcakes, cookies, ice -cream, etc.)  So, I hope this is good!!!  I'll report tomorrow how it went.

This is a nice little box.  It's a Must Have exclusive, and it's well made.  I really like the color.  I've been thinking about retiring my jewelry tree, because it's looking like a whispering willow (side note: I always thought it was "whisping willow"!  Thank you internet.)  My only complaint is that there's no compartment/sections for organization.  But it's still a nice box that will get used.

It's made with a soft blue leatherette and suede interior.

Tiny Prints Gift Tag Stickers, Special Extra Item

This was our special item, and nothing about it seems special.  I did use them on my gifts, because it was handy, but I wish it had color, or better yet gold embossed!  That would have been cute.

So, we'll see how next month goes.

I LOVED last month, November!!  But there's still nice items in this box.  It's natural not all items, every month, is going to work for me.  It's a surprise subscription box after all, and everyone has different likes and dislikes.  Par for the course.

December 2014 POPSUGAR Must Have Box Review, My Thoughts

Wow, it's been awhile since I've done one of these!!!

I had to take a break from this subscription for financial reasons, but it's Christmas, so I thought I'd spoil myself with a Popsugar box.  Plus, I was going through Popsugar withdrawals.  No joke.  I really was!  So I was delighted today to find my December Must Have Popsugar box delivered, just in time for Christmas.

Coupon code REFER5 saves you $5!

 The first look.

Each month Popsugar provides a really nice pamphlet describing each item.

Williams-Sonoma Cupcake Mix in Vanilla Bean, $14.95.

I've been inside Williams-Sonoma many times, there's one close to where I live, to look through all the pretty kitchen supplies and look at cooking goodies.  I've always wanted to buy and try out a mix, but they're incredibly expensive.  Example, this mix is $15 for 12 cupcakes!  I'm so very excited to try this cupcake mix.

Smashbox Be Legendary Long-Wear Lip Lacquer, $24.

This color is dark!  But after blotting, this color turned out really nice.  I'm a sucker for lip gloss, haven't worn lipstick in ages, but the problem with gloss is that it fades quickly.  I put this color on a couple hours ago, and you can still see it, which is nice.

SPUN by Subtle Luxury Speckled Metallic Scarf, $62.

This scarf is gorgeous!  This scarf is also available online in Pink, but I'm glad we got the grey, as it goes with more outfits and has a feeling of sophistication.  The specks of gold is so much nicer in person.  With all the nice scarfs I've gotten from Popsugar, I really need to learn how to wear them!  Thank goodness for YouTube.

 Sparklepop Sydney Necklace, $42.

Another item that's so much more gorgeous in person.  The chain is really long, which is a nice style, but I prefer shorter chains.  Thankfully the chain is long enough to easily wrap it twice for a layered look.  Oh, and the chain is 18K gold-plated!  And the crystal is so beautiful and brilliant.

 Canvas Dauville Platinum Bowl, $29.

This is a really nice, chic bowl.  I love the metallic.  Just the right size for a small snack or to hold jewelry, which you can tell from the picture with my rings.  I think the mirror like reflection is really fun.

Knot & Bow Parcel Tags, $4.

Parcel tags, just in time to wrap presents!  Actually, I'm thinking of using these for my scrapbooking.

I love this box!  This is tied right right up there with the November 2013 box, which remains my favorite, so I'm so glad I splurged and got this December box :0)

December's 2013 POPSUGAR Must Have Box Review

It feels like I'm one of the last ones to get the December box this month!  The previous two months I was one of the first.  Snow and Holiday package season.  I'll blame that.  I didn't get this box until last Saturday, over a week after many others got theirs.

POPSUGAR is a monthly subscription lifestyle box for gals.

You can subscribe here.

The overall contents of the December box.

Ghirardelli Limited Edition Holiday Chocolate Squares, valued around $5, and Ghirardelli Milk and Caramel Squares, valued at $4.25.  Chocolate!!!  I wanted chocolate in this box, and I got it.  Normally I wouldn't buy the Holiday variety pack, though I saw it at Target the other day, but it was fun trying out the flavors.  Pumpkin Spice Caramel is tasty, and the Peppermint Bark is out of this World.  So good.

Milk & Caramel SQUARES Stand Up Bag
Milk & Caramel SQUARES Stand Up Ba

CC Made Classic Caramel Corn, valued at $4.  I haven't tried this yet, saving it for later, but it looks really good.  I love a good caramel corn.

Govino Go Anywhere Flutes, valued at $12.95.  I'm not too crazy about this item, mainly because I don't drink.  Martinelli on Christmas Eve/New Years?  The plastic is super, super thin.  I've drunk from bottled water with thicker plastic.  They're hand wash only for a reason.

ModelCo Fibre LashXTend Mascara, valued at $20. Mascara is one of those beauty products you can never have too many, because, unlike foundation or blush, once you start using mascara you have 3-5 months, depending on who you talk to, before you have to throw it away.

MIXT Studio Wrapping Paper, valued at $9.00.  It's cute, on newsprint like paper, and I love the twine.  I'm making scrapbooks for Christmas, and this paper is too small.  I know some people got this Popsugar box to gift, and they were unhappy this product was in the box, because opening a gift on Christmas day, with Christmas wrapping paper inside, is kinda weird.  And Popsugar really pushed gifting this box last month.

NCLA Designer Nail Wraps, valued at $16.  I've been wanting to try nail wraps for a longtime, but haven't brought myself to try them yet.  Plus this set, called Peppermint Lane, is an online exclusive.  I'm always so messy when I paint my nails!!

I messed up a little when trying them out, but the results are pretty good.  Not quite sure how I feel about them.  I had a hard time pulling the nail wraps off the sheet with the paper part sticking, and then having to try and pull the paper off the sticky part.  We'll see how long they last.  They survived the shower this morning, and my nails look Christmas festive.  It's fun trying something new.

And now for my FAVORITE item in the box!!!!!!

Lulu Frost for Popsugar Bracelet, valued at $110.  I've never heard of Lulu Frost before, but they're super tres chic and high end.  A really cute, but simple Morse Code beaded bracelet is $72.  I'm a HAM, Morse code on jewelry is just plain awesome.

This bracelet was made exclusively for Popsugar, which is really cool.

From the website:

"Created exclusively with POPSUGAR, this delicate bracelet is a go-to holiday accessory. Featured in the POPSUGAR Must Have box it makes for a perfect gift.

Brass chain, silvertone plated zinc, glass stones.

Measures 6" length with 1" chain extension."

I love it.  The chain is very Steampunk, and the charm is very Art Deco.  I'm really into both right now, so the combo is fun.  Plus I just think this bracelet is really classy.

The overall value of the box is around $181.20.  But then value comes from personal perception, and I feel I got my money's worth out of the box.  Some really nice items and . . . chocolate!
