So, How About Those Crazy New Disneyland Ticket Prices? Comparing the Different Parks Around the World.

Disneyland is already crazy expensive.  Once upon a time, when visiting, I could afford park hopper tickets.  Now I can't, unless I'm going many days and the cost breaks down a little.   But still, it's crazy, and a lot of families can't afford to visit.  Throw in staying at a Disney resort and that's the cost of a car/house down payment.  Disneyland is fun, but it's not worth going into debt.

In preparation for Star Wars Galaxy's Edge, the prices just went up, again, though I suspect they would have gone up anyway, as increased ticket prices are a standard for Disneyland.

Prices below are for adults, before tax.

Disneyland

Now Single day, 1-park, ranges from $104, $129, and $149 depending on time of year and crowds.  Throw in a park-hopper and you're looking at $148, $172, and $191 for those same tickets.  Maxpass is an extra $15 a day.  You're looking at peak prices all Summer when Star Wars opens.

2+ day park prices are fixed, regardless of time of year. (SP = Single Park, PH = Park Hopper). 2 days (SP $210, PH $265), 3 days (SP $280, PH $335), 4 days (SP $305 , PH $360), 5 days (SP $320, $375 PH ).  You can't buy more than 5 days, but after 5 days you're ready to go to the beach or check our another tourist location.

Annual Passes have also increased in price.  I was honestly looking into getting an annual pass for the first time ever, but now I'm having second thoughts.  Deluxe Disney Passport $799, Disney Signature Passport $1,149, and Disney Signature Plus Passport $1,399.

Parking is $25.

Disney World

Overall Disney World is cheaper than Disneyland, though their multi day passes are not fixed, because it depends on crowds per day.  No word, that I've found, if they're raising their prices, though I wouldn't be surprised.

Single-day, single-park passes go from $109, $114, $122, $129.  Adding a park-hopper is +$55 for one day, and gradually increases if you're going for multiple days.

5 day passes, if you want to compare with Disneyland, at Disney World during low peak = $370.58, park-hopper is +$75.  Peak time is $406.00, + $75 for park-hopper.  Memory Maker is $169.  These prices fluctuate if you're combining low peak days with peak days.

At Disney World you can buy up to a 10 day pass, once again prices fluctuate.  Low crowd week for 10 days = $422.72, + $75 for park-hopper all days, $169 Memory Maker.  If you're going for 10 days you're foolish not to add the hopper.  Peak, prices fluctuate, $456.49, + $75 for hopper, etc.

When you go to Disney World you need at least a week.  I went for only 6 days and it felt crammed.  Still fun, but I didn't see everything.

Tokyo Disneyland/Disney Sea

What makes the Tokyo parks interesting is that you can't get a park-hopper ticket for one or two days.  If you go for 3 or 4 days, you can park-hop on the 3rd and 4th day, no extra charge.  They also have special tickets if you want to go after 3 pm or 6 pm.

I'm writing the prices in yen and USD currency is based on Jan. 8th, 2019 rates.

1 day = 7,400 yen ($68.12). 2 day = 13,200 yen ($121.50). 3 day = 17,800 ($163.83). 4 day = 22,400 yen ($206.18).

Single day after 3pm = 5,400 yen ($49.71).

Single day after 6 pm = 4,200 yen ($38.66).

Now, I've head that on super busy days the Tokyo parks will close admission to new guests for crowd control.  The U.S. parks just raise the prices.

Disneyland Paris

First of all, have you seen the Disneyland Paris commercials?  They're brilliant.  That little ducky imitating Donald Duck has all the feels.  So cute.

The Disneyland Paris website actually had the prices in USD.

I'm seeing different prices, so I think there's a promotion.  They also do peak prices.

1 day single park: $68, $88, $101, depending on day.  With added park-hopper: $94, $114, $127.

Looks like they have a flat rate for multi-passes. 2 days = $204, 3 days = $257, 4 days = $306.

You pay for fast passes.  $38 for 3 family rides, $38 for 3 thrill rides, $77 for one time all fast pass attractions, $154 for unlimited all fast pass attractions.

Hong Kong and Shanghai

I'm too confused with the currency on those pages to report on it.  I would like to visit Hong Kong to ride Mystic Manor, as I've watched the POV on YouTube so many times.  At Shanghai I would like to ride Pirates of the Caribbean and Tron.  Luckily Tron is coming to Tomorrowland at Walt Disney World.  WDW Tomorrowland seriously needs an update, so this is good.

So what have we learned today?  We all need to go to Tokyo Disneyland.  It's awesome.
